PHPeclipse is a feature-rich PHP IDE with support for editing, debugging, formatting and beautifying code, navigating though code outline, code templates and much more.

Getting started

To start with PHPEclipse, you must at least install Apache and PHP (see the Requirements section below).

Then, you will find short intro on setting up a project and running it in this post.

For more advance use (in particular to use the debugger), check the links provided below.

Requirements and limitations

• This plugin requires a distribution of EasyEclipse containing:
  • Eclipse Web tools editors


• It may also work with a standard installation of Eclipse 3.1.2, if you include the Eclipse Tools plugin beside the plugins listed above. We have not tested it, though.


• To use this plugin, you need this additional software:
  • XAMPP: Recommended Apache, PHP, Perl and MySQL distribution and installer


• This plugin is present in the following distributions:
