Hi all why the php tools VIEWs(such as php functions, php project explorer, php outline, etc.) are NOT available in the EasyEclipse for LAMP. I haven’t checked whether they are available in EasyEclipse for PHP
what to do to get those views. Pl. help me.
AFAIK, PHPEclipse doesn’t have many views (anyone tell me if I’m wrong). Perhaps you are talking about the PHP IDE that’s starting at the Eclipse Foundation ? It will have more views, but it has only started recently and is not at all as mature as PHPEclipse that we are shipping (in fact, I don’t think that PHP IDE has released any file yet).
PHP Ide has a 1.0 release out. It is not that mature as phpeclipse, but i’m guessing that it will takeover phpeclipse within the coming months. It has Zend working on it behind the scenes which is a great PRO. Have a look at

Hi, the version 0.7 is even NOT released and it is scheduled for next Feb.

Thank you for this great project! I just missed the included Webdav/FTP Plugin.
Greetings from Mischa Brammer, DAKOSY AG - Germany
Hi Franois,
Thank u very much.
Bye the Bye my request is that “can we not include something like the view namely PHP Outline, PHP functions, PHP Explorer etc in our easyeclipse for LAMPP or for PHP.”
Secondly, can we not incorporate the code folding something similar to that of the DreamWeaver8.0 wherein the user is freed to fold whatever no. of lines without restricting to Functions, Methods, Classes, Comments, etc. On selecting a set of lines we can see the (-) signs on the Margin on either ends of the SELECTION and on clicking either of them will fold the code. Is it not nice ………
Hope this sorts of comments are permitted here………

Hi there,
wanted to thank the team for the great work they are doing with EasyEclipse. It’s especially great and easy to have different installations of Eclipse at once (php, java, …).
It would be great to have an alternative PHP-Version from EasyEclipse using PHP IDE, so one can easily compare it to PHPEclipse.
so long,
Tobias
Just want to throw in a simple thank you for you work doing this package.
phpeclipse still have some problems using the auto formatting (Ctrl+Shift+F)
try this code:
if you try to auto format it, eclipse adds empty lines every time you try it
also, when auto formatting some more complicated code, the engine crashes and I have to close the file and reopen it
you guys have done great job, but small things like these make the whole thing unusable..
I am using the latest easy eclipse…
thanks,
Stan
here is the code again:
<?
// test comment
?>
every comment after the <? has the problem with the autoformatting
This Eclipse IDE is wonderful, great idea! Thanks for all!
Great distribution of Eclipse. Btw. do you plan to replace PHPEclipse width PHP Development Tools (PDT) or a new distro width this eclipse.org plugin? Project PHPEclipse id dead? I dont find info about new version
PHPEclipse is alive and well, but we (I am also a comitter there) are late in doing some new release.
Why don’t you use PDT instead PHPEclipse?
Really nice work! Keep going…
Oh ,Great,thanks ndthi_gk
Thank you for updating to 3.2.2 for those who are using Microsoft Windows Vista!
As i have Xampp I tried to install the OS X version 1.2.2.2 and it seems to install ok but there are too many bugs to make this product usable. firstly the utter lack of documentation. I have no clue how to change the parameters to point to my xampp installation. also, the quantum db plugin does not contain any jdbc drivers. when i click ‘new bookmark’ it asks for drivers and the list is empty.
Cheers, Pix
Is this distribution will be soon updated ?
I have been a big fan of EasyEclipse for over a year now, but I have always substituted PDT for PHPEclipse. Now that PDT 1.0 is out, it requires the 1.3 framework. I see that some of your distributions have made the switch to 1.3 — I hope that the various LAMP distros will reach 1.3 soon. I also hope that you would consider going with PDT instead of PHPEclipse. In the meantime, I’m back in download hell.
really looking forward to the distribution for Python being updated to 1.3. I need to use the remote file system access module and it will not work with the 1.2 series.
Please add some FTP plugin like esftp to upload files from server
Thanks from Germany
Too bad that eclipse doesn’t have built in ftp support, without ftp support it isn’t a web developers choice. With ftp, Eclipse would be the number one choice for me but without i’d rather use notepad and a ftp-client… to bad…
Hi,
I have tried EasyEclipse for PHP. Great work..
Does EasyEclipse support code completion?
Thanks..
Manda - Indonesia
Thanks for your great project guys.
It is so flexible …
when the next version of this distribution is released?
it is a great tool for development!
Thanks in advance.
Thanks from Tunisia, this is really a very nice project. we are eager to see the next version alive.
Time for a new version isnt it?
Yes!… working on it … there have been some delays because we like to sync releases, and Radrails has gone commercial as well as RDT.
We are also in the middle of the Eclipse 3.3.2 upgrade… so that upgrade should come up soon!
bear with us…
Actually help for updating is always welcomed

Hi,
I’m looking forward to seeing the next version. 1.2.2.2 Makes me allready quite happy. Personally I think the only thing distracting is the clipboard-cut-bug.
Does this support code completion?
I’m also waiting for the update in this distribution. Thanks!!
Hi Philippe
i’m looking also for an upgrade. easy eclipse is a great work. Thank’s.
Looking forward to an upgrade, worries me that I’m going to be installing something so behind, but many thanks for all your efforts. Maybe it’s time to drop syncing with other projects if this is causing an extended holdup?
You say “Actually help for updating is always welcomed!”. Fair comment and I hope many of us are eager to give as well as receive. How about a pointer to somewhere on the site where you spell out the ways we can help with updating?
I’m downloading the .tar.gz while writing this. I’m hoping there’s something inside it, a big ReadMeForDummies.txt or some such. But even if there is, it would be nicer still if I could read that file /before/ spending an hour downloading the tar.gz and possibly finding out it’s going to be too difficult for me to install. I know it’s called ‘easy’ but easy comes in various levels!
Anyhow, thanks for creating this. I’ve already tried Eclipse on Kubuntu 8.04, installing it from the Ubuntu repository, and it was great for Java but I couldn’t figure out how to get it to work with PHP, so I really hope your way will be the solution. If not, I’ll give up computers and start raising sheep.
He lack to PHPEclipse a program for graphic design database like pgdesigner for PostgreSQL (http://pgdesigner.sourceforge.net) and a built in FTP client. With these two additions, PHPEclipse would be the killer tool. :o)
@ftp client: use “Remote Systems Explorer” - this one adds support for
* Locale File Access
* FTP
* SSH
