Getting started

The best way to start with the Java Development Tools, is to use the very complete help shipped with it. Once you have started Eclipse, select the menu Help -> Help Content. This will open the documentation with your default internet browser. In particular, you can start with the Java Development User Guide -> Getting Started section. You should also look at the Workbench User Guide, as described in the Eclipse Platform plugin page.
